Do I have to be good at running or have done triathlon before?
The club welcomes all levels of ability and experience, and is the ideal place for beginners to get started.

I'd love to try triathlon, is it hard?
No, but there can be a lot to learn, so it helps to learn from seasoned competitors who are more than happy to lend their encouragement.

I am a runner, is the BRAT Club right for me?
Many of our members are runners only, with no intention of ever getting involved in triathlon.
 
Where do the BRATs train?
All over the eastern suburbs, running along the beach at Bondi, cycling in Centennial Park and beyond, and swimming at Icebergs and across the bay at Bondi.

How do I get my membership card?
You collect your membership card from the front desk at the Bondi Icebergs Club, on Notts Avenue at the south end of Bondi Beach.

Do I need my membership card before I start training?
No, just come down and introduce yourself.

Can non-members participate in club races?
You join BRATs on the day. Non-members can also race provided that they are a member of Triathlon NSW or Triathlon Australia, or are a member of another affiliated triathlon club.

Do I have to join Bondi Icebergs separately?
No, BRATs membership includes Bondi Icebergs Social Membership.

Where are club races held?
Running races are held at Centennial Park, and triathlons and duathlons are held at Heffron Park in Maroubra, with any swimming at the outdoor pool at the Des Renford Aquatic Centre.

Do I need to join Triathlon NSW to join the club?
No, but it is recommended if you are doing triathlon. Get in touch with Triathlon NSW to arrange membership.

Does the BRAT Club provide insurance against injury or accident?
No, that is one of the reasons we recommend that you join Triathlon NSW.
