The Bondi Running & Triathlon (BRAT) club is passionate about getting people swimming, cycling and running by creating a vibrant club spirit where members are challenged to achieve greatness whilst have fun in a safe and friendly environment.

- Technical Official Accreditation Workshop Your sport needs you! As the sport of Triathlon and the number of participation opportunities continues to grow the demand for the services of Technical Officials continues to grow also.
The role of the Technical Official is one of the most important roles at any Triathlon Event as they work to ensure that races are “Safe and Fair for all Competitors”.
Note: All current members would have recently received an e-mail advising to renew their membership. If you have not received the e-mail check you SPAM folder.
Note: You must be a current BRAT club member to participate!
Note: You must be a current Triathlon Australia (or state) member to participate!
Who is suitable for the role:
- Current Competitors – who can officiate at events when they are not racing
- Ex Competitors
- Supporters and Family Members of Competitors
- Anyone who has a sense of fair play and good communication skills
Technical Officials receive the following:
- Free Training – an initial 4 hour education workshop run by experienced TO’s with a training accreditation
- On field mentoring and assessment
- Travel allowance when officiating at non local events
- A “Field of Play” allowance for each event
- Accommodation is normally provided by Race Director’s at major events run by Event Managers such as Elite Energy, WTC (Ironman), USM etc
- The satisfaction knowing that you have made a significant contribution that is valued by all in the sport of Triathlon
- Points for their Club at the TriNSW Club Championships

- BRAT Club member Chris Dunn recently competed at Kona and here is an interesting read on his big day out.
- Congratulations to BRAT Club member Laura Siddall who is the 30-34 AG World Champion 2011 for the sprint distance triathlon and achieved a time of 01:08:57, nearly 3 minutes ahead of the next competitor. The championship was held in Beijing recently. Click here for her report.
